RVCC Students Present at Statewide Conference and Opportunity Fair
Student activist leaders Sandra Faragalla and Myra Niang represented Raritan Valley Community College at the EngageNJ statewide Student Conference and Opportunity Fair, held February 25 at Middlesex College. The students presented on “Unity in Community and Beauty in Diversity.”
The 4th annual conference, “THRIVE,” featured a wide range of opportunities for students to connect and learn from each other about their experiences engaging with communities through research, volunteering, service learning, civic leadership, student clubs, voter campaigns, and more. The Opportunity Fair provided an interactive space for students to learn from and work with professionals to develop skills, interests, and pathways to meaningful careers.
RVCC students Faragalla and Niang volunteer in the community and on campus through the College’s nationally recognized Service Learning Program, student clubs, Student Government, and various committees. The students shared their ideas on how to be an engaged college student and how they and the organizations they serve can benefit. Faragalla and Niang understand the power of their voice to make a difference on campus and in the community to inspire others through their service leadership.
RVCC is a longtime member of EngageNJ, which is a consortium of 20 two-year and four-year colleges and universities working to develop and deepen service learning and civic engagement among campuses and throughout the state.
