Concert to Feature Pianist Yevgeny Morozov
Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will present a performance by the Ukrainian-born pianist Yevgeny Morozov, Sunday, November 20, at 5 p.m. The event, part of the MOZAIKA Concert Series’ 2022-2023 season, will be held in the Nash Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The performance will feature Beethoven’s Piano Sonata #32 in C minor, opus 111; Schubert’s “Wanderer” Fantasy; Chopin’s Fantasy in F minor; Busoni’s Fantasy on “Carmen”; and Liszt’s Mephisto Waltz #1.
Yevgeny Morozov is known for both his “stunning technique” and his musicianship, as exemplified by the concert’s extremely challenging program. A prizewinner in numerous international piano competitions in Europe and the United State, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, the National Concert Hall in Dublin, Yale University, in Ireland, and at the National Opera of Ukraine, Kyiv, among other venues. He has appeared as soloist with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish Academy Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, and the Slovak Philharmonic, among others.
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the RVCC Applied Music Fund to assist with scholarships and purchases of musical instruments for music students.
The MOZAIKA Concert Series is designed to promote multicultural dialogue through the performance of music from the classical canon through the 21st Century.
A post-performance discussion with the artist will follow the concert. General admission tickets cost $15 each; admission is free for seniors and students. For advance ticket reservations, contact the RVCC Theatre Box Office at 908-725-3420. For information, call the Arts & Design department at 908-218-8876.
