Women’s Center Sets Virtual Program on Oral Histories from the Mississippi Delta
The public is invited to hear “From Grandmother's Kitchen Table: Oral Histories from the Mississippi Delta,” a virtual presentation featuring Pamela Walker, Tuesday, March 30, from 1-2:20 p.m. The program is being sponsored by the Raritan Valley Community College Women’s Center.
Pamela Walker is a PhD in History candidate at Rutgers University. Her work examines the relationship between rural Black and white women, motherhood, civil rights, sympathy, and social consciousness in 1960s-era social movements. During the program, she will share the findings and insights from her experiences conducting oral histories with rural Black women in the Mississippi Delta.
The virtual presentation is being held via Zoom, and advance registration is required at https://raritanval-edu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAqc-CsqjItHdcCoi6kf7HVeYkkKxhhhlof. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
