Student Jazz Ensemble to Perform in Concert

Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Student Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert Thursday, December 12, at 7:30 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The group is directed by John Loehrke of New York City.

The ensemble will perform pieces by a variety of jazz artists, such as Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Freddy Hubbard, Charles Mingus, and Mario Bauza. The group also will perform music from the Great American songbook including familiar, beloved standards. The highlight of the concert will feature spontaneous improvisations by student musicians.

The Student Jazz Ensemble includes the following members: Keith Bernstein, Marie Scodari, and Jamie Mallinson, Branchburg; Rim Jalal, Edison; Max Spann, Clinton; Gabby Taylor and Karl MacQueen, Phillipsburg; Joy Auerbach, Montgomery; Pablo Ramirez and Kevin Bailey, Somerset; Andrew Lawson, Sparta; Sebastian Friedermann, Ringoes; Tony Siniscalco, Readington; Matt Donnelly, Union; Travis Pawelek, Warren; Brian Hewitt, Stockton; Joel Jimenez, Manville; Joe Maselli, Somerville; Kyle Doremus, Springfield; Nicholas Angelo, Hillsborough; Matt Zacek, Flemington; Tom McGourty, Bethlehem, PA; Chris Harth, Califon; Evan Hoffman, Stewartsville; and Jake Koscieski, Hampton.
