Program on Tariffs and Their Impact on US Companies Set
The public is invited to attend “Tariffs: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of International Trade,” a discussion on tariffs and their impact on US companies, Wednesday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m., at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC).
Sponsored by RVCC’s Center for International Business and Education and the Business and Public Service Department, the program will help demystify tariffs and explain why a government would impose them. The event, which is free of charge, will be held in the Conference Center at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The presentation will begin with a discussion of why nations find it necessary to impose tariffs and the theoretical implications of having tariffs. Two industry leaders, John Lohse, President, Betar, Inc., and Jim Walsh, Tool Steel Product Manager, Pennsylvania Steel Co., Inc., will then discuss how their businesses have been impacted by the recently enacted tariffs.
For additional information about the event, contact Dr. Ellen Lindemann, 908-526-1200, ext. 8348.
