Career Night Focusing on Humanities, Social Sciences, Social Work, Education Set
The public is invited to attend a Humanities, Social Sciences, Social Work and Education Career Night at Raritan Valley Community College, Thursday, February 7, from 6-8 p.m. The event, which is free of charge, will be held in the Conference Center at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The program will offer prospective students, current RVCC students and community members information about the variety of careers available in such fields as education/teaching, social work, or counseling (mental health, drug and alcohol addiction, chemical dependency).
Information will be available for prospective students interested in pursuing an Associate Degree at Raritan Valley Community College and then transferring to a four-year college or university to study such fields as anthropology, geography, history, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, or women and gender studies
Those attending the event will have the opportunity to speak with faculty members from the College’s Humanities, Social Science, Social Work and Education Department as well as alumni currently working in their respective fields. Participants will learn about career pathways for graduates, as well as hands-on projects and internships available to students pursuing degrees in these areas.
The Department includes the following disciplines:
• Humanities: history, philosophy (including world religions), women & gender studies, humanities
• Social Science: anthropology, geography, political science, psychology, sociology
• Social Work/Human Services
• Education: early childhood education & education
