Chorale to Present Annual Holiday Concert

The RVCC Chorale will give its annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 8, at 8 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg campus.

The program will feature Johann Sebastian Bach’s cantata, Das Neugeborne Kindelein, as well as a cappella pieces from by Sergei Rachmaninov, Zoltan Kodaly and Giuseppe Verdi. The program also will include an audience singalong of traditional carols.

Directed by Dr. John Sichel, RVCC Assistant Professor of Music, the RVCC Chorale is composed of students, former students and members of the community. The holiday concert’s performers include Eleni Catanzaro, Jenny Koch and Sandy Turner, sopranos; Joy Auerbach, Ruth Dilley, Jennifer Kapoian and Jane Sausanavage altos; Stephen Chiselko, Patrick Gardner and Nick Novack, tenors; and James Hahn, Michael Krupinski and Tyler McManus, basses. Michael Cooney is the Chorale’s accompanist.

For this concert, the Chorale will be assisted by a chorus of 4th and 5th grade students from Clinton, Readington Township and Union Township public schools.

General admission tickets cost $12 per person, $8 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the night of the concert or in advance from the Theatre Box Office, 908-725-3420. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
