Simon, Locandro Named to RVCC Board of Trustees

Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Board of Trustees welcomed new members Roger R. Locandro of Stockton and Donna M. Simon of Whitehouse Station at its meeting held Tuesday, May 15. Locandro and Simon were appointed to their positions by the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

“We welcome Donna Simon and Roger Locandro to the RVCC Board of Trustees. Their combined, extensive experience in such areas as public service, business and educational policy will make them both highly valued assets to the Board,” said RVCC President Michael J. McDonough.

Roger R. Locandro and his wife Holly currently own and operate a construction company, Roger Locandro Jr., Inc.; a nursey, Pun’kin Hollow Farms; and a high-efficiency mechanical company, Energy Smarts Mechanical. Locandro is a former Mayor and Township Committeeman in Delaware Township.

He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University and also attended both Raritan Valley Community College and Mercer County Community College. He is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration at Rutgers University, Camden. He also has completed a number of programs at the Center for Government Services at Rutgers University, including Registered Municipal Clerk, Certified Public Works Manager, Qualified Purchasing Agent, Affordable Housing Professional, County Administrator, as well as a mini-Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Donna M. Simon served two terms as a member of the NJ General Assembly. She served on the Education Committee, Joint Committee for Public Schools, Telecommunications Committee and State Government Committee. Her work focused on fiscal reform, economic development, education, workforce development and developmental disabilities. She was appointed by Governor Christie to the NJ State Museum Board and Board of Canvassers.

Simon also served as a Readington Township Committeewoman and as a member of the Board of Health. Active in public service, she is a member of the Board of Trustees at Carrier Clinic, OAR–NJ and NJ AniMeals. Simon has worked in pediatric and adult invasive and non-invasive cardiology and is an honorary member of the Civil Air Patrol.
