Area residents interested in learning more about what steps to take after completing a draft of a book are invited to attend “I’ve Finished My Draft, Now What?” Tuesday, April 3, from 7-8:30 p.m., at Raritan Valley Community College, Branchburg. The program, which is free of charge, is being presented by the New Jersey Authors Network (NJAN) in the College’s Evelyn S. Field Library.

The evening will feature a panel of published authors—Charlotte Bennardo, G.B. Nescott, Yvonne Ventresca, and Laurie Wallmark—with collective experience writing in such genres as science fiction, contemporary, fantasy, historical fiction, young adult, humor, and picture books.

The authors will share their personal journeys to publication, offering tips and information on getting published in today’s market. Topics will include where to go for feedback, manuscript evaluation, where to send submissions, and other “perils, pitfalls and often pleasant surprises” that await budding authors. A question-and-answer segment with the audience will follow the authors’ presentations.

For more information about the event, contact Carina Gonzalez, RVCC Outreach Librarian, at carina.gonzalez@raritanval.edu or visit library.raritanval.edu/events/authorpanel.
