Raritan Valley Community College is offering two new professional development courses this winter in Change Management and Working Across Generations. Classes will be held in the College’s new Workforce Training Center at its Branchburg campus.

A two-session course on Change Management will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, February 13-27, from 7-9 p.m. The 10-hour course will help students understand the principles of today’s most popular change management methodologies. Content will include the fundamental elements of a business transformation. Classes will cover such topics as preparing for change; identifying and managing individual and group reactions to change; and defining and designing success metrics when dealing with change.

The seven-hour Working Across Generations course will be presented Wednesday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Working with people across multiple generations is a core challenge for individuals and teams. Each group has its own distinct characteristics, values and attitudes toward work, based on its generation’s life experiences. To successfully gain the contributions of diverse generations in the workplace, individuals need to understand people who are different from them. The course will offer participants techniques for working more effectively with various generations, as well as show how diversity in a workplace can strengthen results.
