Raritan Valley Community College’s Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is highlighted in the current issue of Change Makers: Phi Theta Kappa Journal of Student Leadership. The journal features the work of PTK chapters that are teaming with their college administration to better their campus through their College Project.

RVCC’s Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter collaborated with RVCC President Michael J. McDonough, Provost Karen H. Bearce, and administrators in Student Life and the Center for Accessibility and Inclusive Education to develop and implement events and services on campus to improve students’ mental health.

The chapter members’ work included hosting a mental health first aid training with a certified professional and advocating for a sensory room on campus. The sensory room would offer a spot where students could escape the sensory overload of college life and relax in a quiet and calming environment.
