“Little Scientists Night” Offers Opportunities for Local Youngsters to Engage in STEM Activities
Local youngsters were given the opportunity to engage in activities in all areas of science and participate in experiments during Raritan Valley Community College’s recent “Little Scientists Night.” The program was held November 16 in the Christine Todd Whitman Science Center at the College’s Branchburg campus.
RVCC’s Science and Engineering department partnered with the Pioneer Family Success Center of Somerville for the event, which was attended by approximately 80 youngsters ages 5-10—proudly donning lab coats—and their families. In addition,100 RVCC student volunteers and members from nine student clubs assisted with activities and logistics.
The children participated in STEM-related activities focusing on astronomy and math, as well as such areas as biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, and environmental science.
RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
