Adult Learners’ College: Launching This Fall at RVCC!
Are you an adult thinking about going back to college or taking college classes? Great news! RVCC’s new Adult Learners’ College is launching this fall, offering plenty of educational and upskilling opportunities for adult students.
RVCC’s Adult Learners’ College is designed for adults age 25 and older who are looking to:
- Begin or complete their college degree
- Explore a new career path, gain additional training
- Get a promotion at work
- Be the first member of their family to attend college
- Improve their English, and more
Going back to school as an adult can be quite an adjustment, especially when juggling work, school, and family. That’s why RVCC is dedicated to offering support through flexible scheduling, convenient online classes for adults, and many student support services to help you along the way. RVCC can also offer guidance on how to earn credits for prior learning experience.

Scholarships for Adults Returning to College
Adult learners will be pleased to know that RVCC offers specific scholarships for adults returning to college. These include:
- Second Career Scholarships
This scholarship offers a second chance to individuals seeking to acquire new skills and increase their ability to find employment in a second career and succeed in today’s competitive economic market.
- Sophie Sadowsky Chmil Memorial Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship must be a female student, 45 years+, who is seeking to acquire new skills and increase her ability to enter the workforce for the first time or start a second career. Covered fields include business administration, financial services, CPA preparation, paralegal studies, and international business.
- Somerset Hills AAUW Scholarship
This scholarship supports mature women who are returning to school to pursue a career or obtain a degree. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be residents of Somerset County or Hunterdon County.
- Tranquilli Scholarship
The recipient will be one female student, five+ years out of high school (no previous college credits required), who demonstrates financial need.
