Become a Medical Lab Tech Through Our Partnership with Labcorp!
Raritan Valley Community College is proud to partner with Labcorp for its new Medical Laboratory Technology program. The program combines academic requirements at RVCC with clinical rotations at Labcorp’s regional lab in Raritan, NJ.
Students will have the opportunity to train with Labcorp’s incredible team of medical lab technology professionals at a state-of-the-art facility that employs more than 10,000 personnel—and offers many opportunities for qualified candidates to join the team. In addition, Labcorp is sponsoring several scholarships for students as part of the program.

What Does a Medical Laboratory Technologist Do?
As important members of the healthcare field, medical laboratory technologists perform diagnostic laboratory tests used in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Duties include collecting and processing biological samples using standardized laboratory practices; accurately performing analytical testing; and correlating those test results with human health while complying with state and federal regulations.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment in the field is projected to grow 7 percent from 2021 to 2031, making it a solid career choice for those interested in healthcare.
RVCC’s Medical Laboratory Technology Program
RVCC offers an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (A.A.S.). The program provides students with the foundation in clinical laboratory sciences required for entry into the healthcare field as a medical laboratory technician.
Through a combination of classroom experiences at RVCC and clinical experiences at Labcorp, students will study clinical microbiology, clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology, immunohematology, urinalysis, and more.
RVCC’s medical laboratory technology associate degree program is designed to lead to direct employment in the field and will prepare students to take the national MLT (ASCP) certification exam.
