However, that impact has never been greater than in 2020. Many of RVCC’s finest students and graduates became community heroes as they bravely took to the front lines to care for, protect, and serve their communities during the Coronavirus. We Salute RVCC’s Essential & Front Line Heroes!

William Wilde Jr:

RVCC student William Wilde Jr. works as a professional EMT for 911 EMS at Hackensack Meridian Health based out of JFK Medical Center.

Ashleigh Everett:  

RVCC graduate Ashleigh Everett is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, risking her life as an ER Nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway.

Jake Monticello:

RVCC student Jake Monticello, a Certified Pharmacy Technician, works long hours at a ShopRite pharmacy, making sure critical medications are dispensed to patients, many of whom have COVID-19.

David Walker:

Former RVCC student David Walker works for a manufacturing company that produces boxes & paper products that are sent to pharmacies, stores, and restaurants, helping to ensure that people have their essential goods.

Obe Bayard:

RVCC student Obe Bayard works in the supply chain department at RWJBarnabas Health Somerset, helping to ensure that staff members have the necessary equipment and supplies for patients.

Eshley Pinto:

A graduate of RVCC’s Nursing Program, Eshley Pinto is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, taking care of patients in the Cardiology/Intermediate Care Unit at RWJ University Hospital Somerset.

Juliana Gonzalez-Rivas:

 RVCC Honors College student Juliana Gonzalez-Rivas is creating washable cotton face masks. For each mask purchased, she donates a mask to a local hospital. Be sure to check out Juliana's website.

John Oliver:

RVCC graduate John Oliver, a Paramedic/Firefighter in Prince George County, Maryland, is on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, working long shifts and saving lives.

J’Mi Cassagnol:

RVCC student J’Mi Cassagnol works extra hours as a server at The Chelsea at Warren, helping to ensure that residents of the assisted living facility–who are extremely vulnerable to COVID-19–have what they need.

Students, Staff and Faculty Heroes from Advanced Manufacturing, Arts & Design and Engineering:

RVCC Heroes from Advanced Manufacturing, Arts & Design and Engineering have created 3D-printed face shields. The College’s Rotaract Club also has assisted with cleaning and assembling the PPE, which has been donated to area hospitals to assist healthcare workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
