RVCC Giving Day Most Successful in Event’s History
The Raritan Valley Community College Foundation held its annual “Giving Day” fundraising campaign on March 21, benefitting students and the RVCC community at large. The 24-hour effort netted $25,549, making it the most successful Giving Day in the College’s history. The RVCC Foundation raised just over $14,000 during last year’s Giving Day campaign.
Some 26 student clubs and athletic teams participated in this year’s effort, as did faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the College. A total of $14,983 was raised for student clubs, with additional support generated for the Student Emergency Fund, new scholarships in Workforce Training, ESL (English as a Second Language), as well as the Chris Koep Scholarship, which was established in memory of the beloved RVCC Art professor and painter.
“We are grateful to the Raritan Valley Community College network of friends and supporters for their generous support during our Giving Day campaign,” said Mike Marion, Executive Director, RVCC Foundation. “This community really stepped up and their collective generosity will have a lasting impact.”
