Local audiences will have the opportunity to explore how physical science creates magic when the Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College presents Bill Blagg’s Magic in Motion, May 6, at 11 a.m.

The 55-minute show is part of the Theatre’s School-Time series, which features educational field trip opportunities for school groups and homeschoolers. It’s geared for audiences in grades 3-6.

Magic in Motion melds the fascination of magic with the wonders of physical science to create an unbelievable educational experience. In this highly visual, interactive show, audience members will have the opportunity to explore how science creates magic. Those attending will watch as ordinary objects come to life and defy gravity with a clap of the hands. Using core scientific principles such as force, energy, friction, and motion, students will learn firsthand how to create illusions. Magic in Motion inspires young people to see how physical science can create magic while also playing an important role in their daily lives.

Tickets to Bill Blagg’s Magic in Motion and all School-Time shows cost $8 per person; one free chaperone ticket is provided for every 15 tickets bought.
