Raritan Valley Community College students who have suffered financial hardship due to COVID-19 are invited to apply for emergency aid as part of the CARES Act, a federally funded grant program. The one-time emergency grants are designed to cover students’ expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Assistance is available to RVCC students who are US citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled for the Spring 2020 Semester. To be eligible, students must be receiving financial aid or have filled out a FAFSA for 2018-2019 or 2019-2020. Students can still fill out a 2019-2020 FAFSA to be eligible for aid. Students also must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program that is eligible for financial aid. Students who are enrolled in the CPA Certificate Program or the Medical Coding Certificate Program, which are offered entirely online, are not eligible for the grants.

The deadline to apply for emergency aid is Friday, May 15. Students should apply for the grant by going to www.raritanval.edu/cares. For additional information or assistance, email CaresActApplication@raritanval.edu or visit www.raritanval.edu/cares.
