RV LIVES Fundraising Campaign Launched to Support Students
The Raritan Valley Community College Foundation is launching a special virtual fundraising campaign, RV LIVES, to help support RVCC students, many of whom have been impacted by COVID-19. The critical fundraising effort, which will run until the end of 2020, is 100 percent dedicated to supporting students and their success.
“Since the pandemic began, many RVCC students and their family members have lost their jobs and are struggling to afford tuition, rent, food, and other basic living expenses. Some are dealing with health-related issues affecting them or their families,” said RVCC Foundation Executive Director Mike Marion. “RV LIVES seeks to provide relief and resources for our students, to help them through the disruptions of COVID-19, and to keep them on track toward attaining their educational goals.”
RV LIVES will support students in a number of ways, including:
• technology and equipment challenges facing students as they transition to online learning
• increased scholarship support (including the new Emerging Heroes Nursing Scholarship)
• food insecurity and related issues
• emergency funds to address new and unanticipated daily hardships
The funds raised through the RV LIVES campaign will be administered to students by leadership from across the College, with representation from faculty, alumni, Student Life, the RVCC Foundation board, and the President’s Leadership Team.
