Transfer Agreement with Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Signed
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in Branchburg and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia have signed a new agreement that will facilitate the transfer of RVCC graduates who are interested in continuing their education in the fine arts.
According to the agreement, students who receive an Associate of Fine Arts from RVCC may seamlessly transfer into PAFA’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program as long as they fulfil certain requirements. This includes maintaining the requisite grade point average (GPA).
“The new agreement with the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts offers a wonderful opportunity for Raritan Valley Community College art students to continue their education and pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. As an added benefit, students transferring from RVCC who enroll at PAFA full-time for their BFA will be eligible for the Community Connection Scholarship ranging from $1,000-$6,000. The scholarship is specifically designed for community college students,” said RVCC President Michael J. McDonough.
According to the agreement, the Community Connection Scholarship is renewable each semester until degree requirements are complete, as long as the student maintains at least a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled full-time. In addition, RVCC students may transfer up to 63 fine arts and/or liberal arts credits to PAFA and the application fee will be waved.
