The Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium in Branchburg will present a number of programs in November, including star shows and laser concerts for all ages. The following programs have been scheduled:

AstronoMyths, Saturdays, November 5, 12, 19, 3 p.m.
The autumn skies are full of myth and science.  Learn some of the Greek mythology associated with the constellations, then look beyond the stories to discover such deep sky objects as binary star systems, star clusters, and giant galaxies. (Recommended for ages 8 to adult)

Laser Pop Rock, Saturdays, November 5, 12, 19, 4 p.m.
Enjoy a family-friendly laser concert with music by a variety of artists. Selections include “Party Rock” by LMFAO, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” by The Tokens, and “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift. (Recommended for ages 6 to adult)

Astronomy Tonight, Saturday, November 5, 7 p.m.
Join us as we use our DigitalSky digital theater to take you on a guided tour of our night sky. Familiarize yourself with some of the popular constellations visible from sunset to sunrise, as well as the stories behind them. We'll also show you how and where in the sky you can find the brightest planets. Weather permitting, the 3M Observatory, located next to the RVCC Planetarium, will be open after the show. (Recommended for ages 8 to adult)

Magic Tree House: Space Mission, Thursday, November 10, 2 p.m.
Young star gazers join Magic Tree House characters Jack and Annie as they discover the secrets of the Sun, Moon, planets, space travel and more. Who can help them answer the questions posted by the mysterious “M”? The show is based on the same-titled, best-selling series of novels. (Recommended for ages 5 and older)

The Little Star that Could, Thursday, November 10, 3 p.m.
Little Star discovers different kinds of stars in the galaxy, but only the most special stars have planets that revolve around them. (Recommended for ages 6-10)

One Ocean, One Sky, Saturdays, November 12 & 19, 7 p.m.
Before there were GPS signals available on our hand-held devices, people on the move used the sky to find their way. Produced by the Imiloa Science Center in Hawaii, One Ocean, One Sky introduces us to the sky of the Pacific seafaring navigators, who were able to sail from Hawaii to Japan and many islands in between. We will also discover how different the sky looks from our 40 degrees north latitude location, compared to theirs at 20 degrees north. (Recommended for ages 8 to adult)

Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon laser concert, Saturdays, November 5 & 19, 8 p.m.
Enjoy a laser concert featuring songs from this classic album, including “Speak to Me/Breathe,” “Money,” and “Brain Damaged.” (Recommended for ages 10 to adult)

Laser Grateful Dead, Saturday, November 12, 8 p.m.    
“Truckin’,” “Touch of Grey,” and “Sugar Magnolia” are a few of the Grateful Dead classics featured in this laser concert.  (Recommended for ages 10 to adult)
