SAT, ACT Exam Preparation Slated at RVCC
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) will offer classes this winter and spring to help students prepare for the upcoming SAT and ACT tests. Both sections of the course will be held at the College’s Branchburg Campus.
The course is geared toward 11th and 12th grade students who plan to take the SAT or ACT exam in March or May. Class sessions will focus on such topics as Algebra, Geometry, Data/Probability, Trigonometry, Writing Skills (Punctuation/Structure/Style/Grammar/Essay) and Passage-Based Reading. Students learn time-saving techniques, discover how to spot incorrect answers with ease, and build stamina. Being better prepared for the exams will help students feel more relaxed, poised, and in command of the material on test day.
The course will be offered twice. The first session (for the March exam) will meet Sundays, January 29 and February 5, 12, 26 and March 5, 2-5 p.m.; Thursdays, February 2 & 23 and March 2, 6:30-9:30 p.m. The second session (for the May exam) will meet Sundays, March 12, 19, 26 and April 2, 9, 23, 30, 2-5 p.m.; and Monday, April 24, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
All materials are included in the $449 fee. Homework is required.
