Local youngsters were given the opportunity to engage in activities in all areas of science and participate in experiments during Raritan Valley Community College’s recent “Little Scientists Night.” The program was held November 14 in the Christine Todd Whitman Science Center at the College’s Branchburg campus.

RVCC’s Science and Engineering department partnered with the Pioneer Family Success Center of Somerville for the event, which was attended by 55 youngsters ages 5-10—proudly donning lab coats—and their families. In addition, RVCC faculty and staff, 110 student volunteers, and members from 11 of the College’s STEM clubs assisted with activities and logistics.

The children participated in STEM-related activities focusing on astronomy and math, as well as such areas as biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, and environmental science.

RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
