RVCC Golfer Qualifies for National Tournament, First Team
Raritan Valley Community College Freshman Golfer Mike Haliscak of Glen Gardner has qualified for the National Junior College Athletic Association National Tournament, which is scheduled for June 5-8 in Chautauqua, NY. He also was named to the First Team All-Region XIX of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The achievements were earned after Haliscak played two great rounds of golf at the NJCAA Region XIX Championships, held May 7-8 at Galloping Hill, Union. Haliscak carded a score of 75 on May 7 and an 80 on May 8, placing him 4th overall in Region XIX competition.
“Mike has tremendous grit and determination and it's a testament to his ability as a golfer. No matter what the outcome, he has earned the right to compete at nationals and Assistant Coach Kevin Ryan and I have the upmost confidence in him,” said RVCC’s Golf Team Head Coach Jan Cocozziello.
