Four students from Raritan Valley Community College’s Honors College participated in the 32nd annual Beacon Conference, held June 7 at SUNY Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Three RVCC students, Lila Seroy, Nina Carvajal, and Elena Waddleton, were selected to present their papers at the conference. Lila Seroy presented A Legal Discussion on Section 2855 of the California Labor Code, and Nina Carvajal presented The Interwoven Relationship of Literature and Latin American History. Unfortunately, Elena Waddleton, who was scheduled to present The Chilean Struggle for Freedom and Independence, was unable to attend.

Honors College student Sienna Martin also attended the Beacon Conference, which, according to its organizers, “was established to recognize, celebrate, and showcase the academic achievements of outstanding students at community colleges in the mid-Atlantic region.”

RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
