The Early Mays to Perform at Theatre
The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present The Early Mays in concert, Thursday, May 2, with performances at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Early Mays have captivated both regional and national audiences with their Appalachian-inspired harmonies built on deep country sensibilities. Their masterful singing features a sweet, old-time sound. The group’s repertoire ranges from traditional to modern in style, and from contemplative to barn-raising in spirit. Whether contra dancing in Pittsburgh, flatfooting in Chicago, or fiddling in West Virginia—each musician has an individual love story with old-time music. Together, they’ve found an even sweeter tale to tell.
The 1 p.m. performance is set in on-stage, theatre-style seating and is approximately one hour in length. The evening show, set in a relaxed, on-stage cabaret setting, includes refreshments and is approximately two hours long.
Seating is general admission, and audience members may pre-order a $5 box lunch and dine before the 1 p.m. show. For tickets to either performance, at $15 each, call the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at www.rvccArts.org.
RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
