Concert to Feature Pianist Miryana Moteva, Violinist David Brubaker
Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will present a concert featuring violinist David Brubaker and pianist Miryana Moteva, March 17, at 2 p.m. The event, part of the MOZAIKA Concert Series’ current season, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.
The performance will feature music by Mozart, Schubert, Migo, and Leviev.
David Brubaker, who has been a member of the Pacific, Oregon, and Houston Symphony Orchestras, joined the Minnesota Orchestra in 2003 and served as acting first associate concertmaster during the 2014 season. Recent solo performances include Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at the Lakes Area Music Festival and the Brahms Double Concerto and the Khachaturian Violin Concerto with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Brubaker has appeared on numerous Minnesota Orchestra chamber music programs. He earned degrees in violin performance from the Manhattan School of Music and Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music.
American-Bulgarian pianist Miryana Moteva is on the faculty of MacPhail Center for Music (Minneapolis, MN) as a piano teaching artist and a collaborative pianist. Her performing credits include regular appearances with Linden Hills Chamber Orchestra and recitals at Sundin Music Hall (Hamline University, MN), the Schubert Club (MN), the Fitzgerald Theater, and The Cowles Center. She performs regularly on MacPhail Center for Music’s Spotlight Concert Series, the University of Minnesota’s Balkanicus New Music Series, and the Schubert Club’s Courtroom Concerts. Her performances have been featured on Classical MPR.
The MOZAIKA Concert Series is designed to promote multicultural dialogue through the performance of music from the classical canon through the 21st Century. Concert proceeds will benefit the Applied Music Fund for purchases of musical instruments and scholarships for RVCC music students.
A post-performance discussion with the artists will follow the concert. General admission tickets cost $15 each; admission is free for seniors and students.
