Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will present “Avenue of Americas,” a concert featuring flutist Darwin Cosme-Sánchez and pianist Anna Keiserman, April 21, at 2 p.m. The event, part of the MOZAIKA Concert Series’ current season, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

The performance will feature music by Samuel Zyman, Amanda Harberg, Valerie Coleman, and Robert Muczynski.

Award-winning Puerto Rican flutist Darwin Cosme-Sánchez is a versatile musician and educator. He has performed concerts at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall and in venues around the world, including Canada, México, Aruba, and Switzerland, as well as Puerto Rico and the United States. Cosme is the music teacher at the Colegio María Auxiliadora of Carolina and teaches woodwinds and music theory at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Carolina.

Russian-born pianist Anna Keiserman is known for her creative programming, expressive freedom, and singular vision. Performance credits include the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Le Poisson Rouge (New York City), the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts (Toms River), the Strand Theater (Hudson Falls, NY), and Ateneu Barcelonès (Barcelona, Spain). Keiserman joined the RVCC faculty in 2020 as an Assistant Professor of Piano. She completed her Doctorate in Piano Performance at Rutgers University, where she was awarded the Elizabeth Wyckoff Durham Award for outstanding academic achievement and excellence in piano performance.

The MOZAIKA Concert Series is designed to promote multicultural dialogue through the performance of music from the classical canon through the 21st Century. Concert proceeds will benefit the Applied Music Fund for purchases of musical instruments and scholarships for RVCC music students.

A post-performance discussion with the artists will follow the concert. General admission tickets cost $15 each; admission is free for seniors and students.
