Adult Enrichment Classes Scheduled at RVCC
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) is offering a variety of adult enrichment classes in November. The following programs will be offered at the College’s Branchburg campus:
Photoshop 2: Students are taught Adobe Photoshop at an intermediate level. The class will be held Saturdays, November 4-December 2, from noon-2 p.m. The fee is $105.
Effective Writing: This refresher course will benefit individuals who are returning to the workforce or are seeking to become better writers. The class will be held Saturdays, November 4-18, from 1-3 p.m. The fee is $80.
Manage Your Busy Mind: Students learn to see life more vibrantly and clearly, instead of through a muted, busy lens. The class will be held Wednesday, November 1, from 7-8:30 p.m. The fee is $20.
Learn to Sew: Students learn how to sew a garment through instruction in laying out, fitting and cutting a pattern. The class will be held Saturdays, November 4-December 2, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $175.
Your Story’s Journey: Students work on their writing ideas until a complete story emerges, exploring various genres including fiction, memoir and creative non-fiction. The class will be held Wednesdays, November 1-29, from 7-9 p.m. The fee is $120.
Public Speaking for Any Occasion: This workshop offers an encouraging, nurturing environment for students to practice public speaking using fun ice-breakers and topic prompts. The class will be held Saturday, November 11, from 10-11:30 a.m. The fee is $20.
Creative Writing Workshop: Using fun, thought-provoking writing prompts and exercises, the workshop helps awaken students’ creativity. Poetry, journal writing, memoir, fiction and non-fiction can be explored. The class will be held Saturday, November 11, from noon-1:30 p.m. The fee is $20.
Family Food Traditions: Participants spend time with fellow food lovers as they explore how and why to identify and carry on family food traditions. Students learn ways to beautifully document and preserve recipes, photographs, cooking knowledge and more. The class will be held Sundays, November 12 & 19, from 2-3:30 p.m. The fee is $30.
Today’s US Economy: The class focuses on why the country’s economic recovery from "The Great Recession" of 2007-2008 has been so slow, and the causes and effects of growing income inequality. The class will be held Fridays, November 3-17, from 10-11:30 a.m. The fee is $60.
