Summer is here—and things are heating up at Raritan Valley Community College! In fact, Summer 2017 is proving to be one of our most active summers yet, with amazing courses for current RVCC students, students attending other colleges, kids and teens/high school students. As you’ll see below, there’s truly something for everyone. So choose your category, explore our options, and follow the links to register.

Current RVCC Students

RVCC students: Why wait until fall to start earning credits again? Most of our academic programs offer classes over the summer, allowing you to accelerate your degree or simply balance out your course load evenly throughout the year. We even have online summer classes if the lure of the beach or pool is too much to handle. To view our for-credit course options, click here, select “Course Schedule.,”

College Students Home for the Summer

Many students from NJ state colleges and other 4 year schools find a temporary home at RVCC over the summer. Why? Taking a summer class at a community college provides an affordable way for university students to earn credits while home for summer vacation with their families. It’s easy to transfer credits back to one’s home school (especially with prior approval), and students can focus on a single, challenging subject in order to knock it out of the way when life is less busy. Another plus is that courses can usually be taken on a pass/fail basis so that visiting students can receive credits without affecting their GPA. Kids

Calling all Somerset County and Hunterdon County kids! RVCC offers a diverse array of awesome summer classes for young New Jersey students ages 6 and up, guaranteed to keep those summer doldrums at bay. Kids can learn to sew, build a robot, design an app, sing like a popstar and so much more. Offered in a safe and enriching environment, our affordable kids courses provide a fun alternative to traditional summer camp, with before and after care options available for working parents. Teens/High School Students

Looking for summer programs for high school students? Summer is the perfect time to get a head start on college. Our Early Credits program lets you to take college credit courses while you’re a high school junior or senior. The credits you earn can stay at RVCC or transfer to any other 4 year college or university when you graduate from high school. It’s a great way to explore possible college majors and get a better understanding of what college is all about. RVCC also offers plenty of non-credit teen courses and pre college summer programs, including SAT Accelerated Test Prep for students entering grades 11 and 12, and a Science and Technology Career Exploration Workshop for those entering grades 10-12.
