The benefits of getting engaged are plentiful—such as building lasting friendships, sharpening a particular skill set or mastering time management skills. It’s so easy to participate when the list of offerings is so wide and varied. Check out the sample below of outstanding clubs and activities that are available to you.

• Student Events

RVCC offers students a calendar packed with a large range of special events, including exhibits in the Art Gallery from students, faculty and artists outside of the College community. Also, an exhilarating host of Performing Arts events such as dance and music recitals, theatrical performances and shows from the RVCC Jazz Ensemble and RVCC Chorale are available. Or, if hearing inspirational stories and discussions from speakers in government, business and nonprofits is more your thing, then check out The Leadership Series.

• Student Clubs

With nearly 30 Academic Student Clubs, you can participate in everything from the Animation Club to the Astronomy Club. The College’s 8 Cultural Clubs such as the Black Students Alliance and Latin Pride Club/Orgullo Latino provide students with a passion for their cultural traditions to connect, engage and celebrate. RVCC’s 14 Special Interest Clubs feature a wide variety of areas—from the Society of Women Engineers Club to the Ultimate Frisbee Club.

• Honor Societies

RVCC has several chapters of national Honor Societies to help foster students’ learning and their desire to excel. Each chapter has membership criteria. Some groups, such as Phi Theta Kappa, meet regularly to plan service projects and discuss events and available scholarships, while Alpha Beta Gamma does not hold meetings and focuses solely on recognizing high academic achievement.

• Student Government

If you consider yourself a born leader and would love an opportunity to get involved with fundraising, hosting leadership seminars and allocating funds for amazing initiatives, RVCC’s Student Government welcomes you with open arms.

• Athletics

RVCC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX and the Garden State Athletic Conference. The College has been represented at the state and national levels, enabling students to compete for athletic scholarships at four-year institutions. RVCC’s Athletic teams include: men’s and women’s basketball; soccer; golf; cross country; women’s softball and volleyball and men’s baseball. 

• Fitness Center & Pool

De-stress and keep fit in the 2,800-square-foot Fitness Center, equipped with extensive cardio, strength and conditioning machines and staffed by qualified personnel. The Aquatic Center also offers a six lane, 25-yard pool.
