American Heart Association CPR Certification

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a critical emergency procedure that can mean the difference between life and death when the heart stops beating.  Immediate and effective CPR can double or even triple a victim’s chances of survival after cardiac arrest.  At Raritan Valley Community College, we are dedicated to empowering our community and students with the essential skills to perform this life-saving procedure confidently.

Our American Heart Association CPR Certification course is designed to equip healthcare providers and laypersons with the knowledge and skills required to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies.  This comprehensive program focuses on teaching the latest AHA guidelines and techniques to ensure that participants are well-prepared to act in life-threatening situations.

Basic CPR Training

Basic CPR Training is suitable for individuals who are not healthcare professionals but want to acquire the essential skills to recognize and care for someone in cardiac arrest or who is not choking.  Upon  successful completion of the course, participants will receive a CPR certification that is valid for two years.

HP111 – 4 hours in person
COURSE FEE:  $99
Instructor:  Nicole Paiz

CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider

CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) for the Healthcare Provider is essential for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, and other public safety personnel.

This program is structured into two segments:

  1. Online Heartsaver (2 hours):  You will receive access to the American Heart Association’s eLearning platform to complete the CPR/BLS Assessment online
  2. Hands-On Training and Testing (2 hours):  After successfully completing the online certification, you will meet with a certified AHA instructor for practical hands-on training and testing.

Upon successful completion of both the online and hands-on segments, participants will receive an American Heart Association certification that is valid for two years.
