Artwork by Ji Yong Kim, Assistant Professor in Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department, is included in two current exhibitions.

Professor Kim’s talents are on display in a mural, Chromatic Symphony of Greater Harlem, on view at NYC Health + Hospitals/Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital, New York City. RVCC art student Marilyn Sancho-Rodriguez also was involved in creating the artwork and helped paint the central figures of the hospital staff.

The Acrylic on PolyTab piece, which measures 28 ft. x 7 ft., is a vibrant mural that celebrates the diverse and rich history of Harlem, paying tribute to the neighborhoods surrounding the Henry J. Carter Specialty Hospital. The mural employs a mandala structure to symbolize unity and harmony among the communities of East Harlem and Harlem. Within this kaleidoscopic structure, each window presents symbols and elements representing the area's cultural heritage and historical significance.

Professor Kim also has artwork featured South Brooklyn Salon: Group Exhibition, on display at the Thomas VanDyke Gallery.

RVCC is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, NJ. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu.
