Parents who are looking for programs for their children during their April school break may consider shows at the Raritan Valley Community College Planetarium in North Branch. The Planetarium is offering the following School Break Shows (open to the public) that are geared for children:

Empire of the Sun: Tuesday, April 7, 1 p.m.

Join us on a grand tour of the solar system, learning remarkable facts about each planet while enjoying striking images taken by space craft. Visitors also will be introduced to the stars visible in tonight?s sky. (Recommended for ages 9 and older)

Laser Pop Rock: Tuesday, April 7, 2 p.m.

Enjoy a laser light show featuring songs by REM, U2, Coldplay and Red Hot Chili Peppers. (Recommended for ages 9 and older)

Secret of the Cardboard Rocket: Wednesday, April 8, 1 p.m.

Two children tour the solar system in just one night with the help of their astronomy book. (Recommended for ages 5-10)

Laser Kids: Wednesday, April 8, 2 p.m.

Listen to songs such as ?The Lion Sleeps Tonight? and ?God Bless the USA? while lasers draw pictures on the dome overhead. (Recommended for ages 6-12)
