RVCC SETS RECORD ENROLLMENT FOR FALL SEMESTER
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch has set a new record in enrollment for the Fall 2007 Semester. The College currently has 6,498 students, a 3.5 percent increase over Fall 2006.
The College also set a new record for the largest full-time enrollment in the 39-year history of the College. Full-time enrollment is up 11 percent over Fall 2006. Another record was set for credit hours. Credit hours for the Fall 2007 Semester are up 7.2 percent over Fall 2006.
Of the 6,498 individuals enrolled in classes for the Fall Semester, 3,017 students are attending full-time and the remaining 3,481 are part-time students.
?Our record enrollment reflects the fact that an increasing number of recent high school graduates are recognizing that RVCC is a great place to start their college education,? said RVCC President Dr. Casey Crabill. ?The students are taking advantage of the opportunity to receive the highest quality education in a supportive learning environment and for a fraction of what it would cost to attend a public or private four-year college or university.?
?Adults are discovering that RVCC makes it easy to fit college into their hectic schedules. With new programs, such as the College for Working Adults, and an expanding number of online courses, RVCC is working hard to meet the needs of adults who want to return to the classroom,? said President Crabill. ?The College for Working Adults enables adults to work full-time and earn an associate degree in just 2 ? years.?
RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for close to 40 years, offers more than 80 associate degrees and certificates. In addition, customized training programs and non-credit courses are available for those seeking personal and professional development.
The College is committed to offering a quality and affordable education through effective teaching, liaisons with the community?s businesses and state-of-the-art technology. For further information, visit www.raritanval.edu .
