New Transfer Student - Raritan Orientation, Advising & Registration Session

Students who have applied to the college, submitted their official college transcripts, and (if necessary) completed the placement test (or submitted SAT/ACT scores) should register for ROARS. If you have not yet applied to the college please wait to register for ROARS until you have submitted your Application for Admission.

As soon as you register for a Transfer ROARS session be sure to have submitted your official college transcript and complete any required Placement Test as soon as possible and/or submit qualifying SAT/ACT scores.

*** All New Transfer Students are encouraged to attend a Transfer R.O.A.R.S.***  

New students (first time in college) must complete any required placement testing or submit SAT/ACT scores that quality for exemption from placement testing, before attending a Transfer R.O.A.R.S. session.   If you have not passed a College English or College Math course with a grade of "C" or higher then you may be required to take a placement test.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL) students: R.O.A.R.S. is not recommended ESL students. If you are a new ESL student, please call 908.526.1200 x8336 for the ESL Advising Schedule. The ESL Advising Schedule will also be posted in the RVCC Testing Center.
  • Before enrollment, it is mandatory that a freshman Dance or Music Major contact the Visual & Performing Arts Department for an interview and placement testing with a member of the department faculty.   Contact Sandy in the Music Department at 908.218.8876 to make an appointment for your audition.
  • If you need accommodations please contact Disability Services at 908.526.1200 Ext. 8418. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to provide accommodations.     

 Transfer ROARS sessions are scheduled monthly from May through August.

New Students who would like to meet with an Advisor to discuss their major or classes before they attend a Transfer R.O.A.R.S. session should contact the Advising & Counseling Services Office.

Sessions will begin promptly so please arrive on time and require that you stay for the entire program.

R.O.A.R.S. sessions will last approximately 3-4 hrs.

Placement testing MUST be completed before you can attend your session (if needed).   Students who have not submitted their official college transcripts should bring unofficial transcripts to the ROARS session.
