Seats are still available in STEM enrichment programs at Raritan Valley Community College for children ages 5-12. Detailed class descriptions of all science and other youth classes may be found at www.raritanval.edu/youth. The following programs will be offered at the College’s Branchburg Campus:

Motorized Model Building with LEGO: Students ages 7-10 build at least two motorized models and enjoy creative free play. The class is designed to promote STEM learning in a fun and exciting environment. The class will be held Saturday, November 19, from 10 a.m.-noon. The fee is $40.

Junior Electrical Engineering: Students ages 5-7 create a simple circuit to power their own invention: a drawing robot. Students explore how to direct their robot and learn about the importance of switches in electrical designs. Participants may take the robot home to continue the learning fun. The class will be held Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m.-noon. The fee is $40.

Introduction to Industrial Engineering: Students ages 8-12 learn about foundational concepts of industrial engineering, including assembly lines; safety; and stamping, sorting and distributing materials. While participating in two activities, students become familiar with the industrial production methods of stamping and casting and take home products from their own “factory.” The class will be held Saturday, December 3, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $50.
