The Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Raritan Valley Community College will hold a comedy fundraiser Friday, March 10, at 8 p.m. The event, which will feature many of the best up-and-coming comedians in the New York metropolitan area, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

Featured performers include RVCC student Chris Sicoli, RVCC Assistant Professor Steve Schwarz, Jackie Byrne, John Kim, Rocco Romeo, Matt Kelly and Matt Jenkins.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Phi Theta Kappa New Member Scholarship Campaign. The campaign is designed to help pay the induction fees for eligible students who are currently incarcerated. The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society recently announced that it will allow currently incarcerated students to join the organization. RVCC’s chapter, through activism and research, played a large part in convincing the international honor society to modify its bylaws in order to offer membership to all eligible students.

The show will contain adult language, so no one under the age of 16 should attend without a parent or guardian. Tickets for the comedy fundraiser, at $10 each, may be purchased online at www.ptkcomedy2017.eventbrite.com.
