College Holiday Break will occur on December 27, 28, 29, and 30th. New Years Day for 2017 will be celebrated on Monday, January 2, 2017 and the return to work date will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.


Since administrators are required to work on some national holidays during the year, they are compensated by days off between the Christmas and New Year holidays. Persons required to work during such period are compensated by other days off.

The College will be closed between Christmas and New Year's Day and each staff employee will be entitled to this time off with pay. If however, the nature of an employee's work requires that the employee work all or part of this time, additional pay at the following rates: Straight time up to forty (40) hours worked and time and one-half there after, except for those circumstances set forth in Article XVII. 

If Christmas and New Year's Day fall on a Saturday or Sunday, the following interpretations shall apply: employees shall have 6 working days off which shall include the Friday before Christmas (which will be either December 23rd or December 24th) and Monday through Friday of the following week: December 26th or 27th through December 30th or 31st.   


Vacation

1.   Staff accrue .83 days of paid vacation per month of employment. New employees shall accrue vacation but be ineligible to be granted vacation leave until completion of six months of continued service. 
2.   Administrators and professional staff are granted 1.83 days paid vacation per month of employment. Vacation available immediately.
3.   No more than two years of accrued vacation leave may be accumulated for both Staff and Administrators for those hired before May 22, 2010. Anyone hired after May 22, 2010 will only be eligible to carry over one year.
