Wayne Martin of Teaneck has been hired as the new Athletic Director at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch. Martin comes to the College with a wealth of experience as an administrator and coach.

Prior to his arrival at RVCC, Martin worked as the Director of Athletics and Recreation at Hostos Community College, New York City, from 2006-2008. His primary responsibilities included the administration of four varsity sports, several intramural programs, student-athlete eligibility and academic enhancement, along with facility operations and special events. Under his leadership, the Hostos Athletic Department experience positive growth and acquired City University of New York Athletic Conference championship titles in Women?s Basketball, Women?s Volleyball and Men?s Basketball respectively.

Martin also had a stellar seven-year NCAA Division 1 career as the Head Women?s Tennis Coach at Long Island University. He compiled a 100-48 record during that span, including two consecutive trips to the Northeast Conference Championship Finals. In 2005 he was awarded ?College Coach of the Year? by the United States Professional Tennis Association for his 100th career win and tireless efforts to the sport.

Martin received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also received a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Long Island University.

RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for 40 years, offers more than 90 associate degrees and certificates.
