RVCC TO OFFER YOUTH FINE & PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES
Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division will be offering a variety of fine and performing arts programs this fall for children and teens ages 6-17. The following programs will be presented:
The World of Art: Students ages 6-12 explore various cultures by creating art forms indigenous and unique to those parts of the world. The class will be held Thursdays, September 25 to October 30, from 4-5:30 p.m. The fee is $92.
Techniques of the Masters: Students ages 6-12 explore the varied techniques of famous artists as they learn to recreate the essence of their design approaches and styles. The class will be held Wednesdays, September 24 to October 29, from 4-5:30 p.m. The fee is $92.
Visual Poetry: Students ages 6-12 engage their five senses to develop group poems, using visual art as inspiration for words. The class will be held Thursdays, September 25 to November 13, from 4:30-6 p.m. The fee is $144.
Perspectives: Creating Art Out of Experience: Using a fusion of the arts, students ages 13-16 experience, express and create their own personal stories. They then perform the stories, putting their own creative spins on it. The class will be held Thursdays, September 25 to November 13, from 6:30-8 p.m. The fee is $144.
Sing & Play the Guitar: Students ages 13-17 learn to accompany themselves on the guitar as they sing. They are also taught how their voice and the guitar interact. The class will be held Saturday, September 27, from 10-11 a.m. The fee is $30. Participants must supply their own guitars.
Improv Comedy Workshop: Students ages 14-17 use the same games and techniques as seen on Whose Line Is It Anyway to create unscripted scenes, monologues, stories and more. The class will be held Wednesdays, October 1-22, from 6-9 p.m., and repeated Saturdays, October 4-25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fee per session is $144.
