RVCC SETS YOUTH SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

The Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch will offer a variety of youth academic enrichment programs this summer to help youngsters get a jump-start on their fall classes. The following programs are designed for students entering grades 3, 4, 5 and high school in the fall:

Jump Start Grade 3: Students entering third grade are introduced to such core subjects as math, science, reading, language arts and problem-solving. Information about the NJ ASK 3 is also included, as well as games and fun activities for the youngsters. The two-week class will be held Monday through Friday, July 20-31, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $344.

Jump Start Grade 4: Students entering fourth grade are introduced to such core subjects as math, science, reading, language arts and problem-solving. Information about the NJ ASK 4 is also included, as well as games and fun activities for the youngsters. The two-week class will be held Monday through Friday, August 3-14, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $344.

Jump Start Grade 5: Students entering fifth grade are instructed in such subjects as math, science, reading, language arts and problem-solving. Information about the NJ ASK 5 is also included, as well as games and activities for participants. The two-week class will be held Monday through Friday, August 3-14, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The fee is $344.

Transition to High School: Students ages 12-14 engage in role play and various types of personal interaction, to help them make a smooth transition to high school. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 27-31, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The fee is $185.
