RVCC SETS SUMMER YOUTH COMPUTER, DESIGN CLASSES

The Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch will offer a variety of computer classes this summer for children ages 8-17. The following courses will be offered:

Computer Camp I: Students ages 8-10 create interesting computer projects using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 13-17, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The fee is $175.

MicroWorlds?Digital Construction for Kids I: Students ages 10-15 work with a software package that?s geared for the creative student interested in learning about computers and how they work. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 6-10, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The fee is $175.

MicroWorlds?Digital Construction for Kids II: Students ages 10-15 create a digital multimedia presentation using the MicroWorlds programming language. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 13-17, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Participants should already have taken MicroWorlds?Digital Construction for Kids I or have been given consent from the instructor. The fee is $175.

Print & Photo Artist: Students ages 10-12 create a variety of projects associated with graphic design and visual imagery. The class will be held Monday through Wednesday, June 29-July 1, from 1-4 p.m. The fee is $110.

Icamp: Students ages 9-14 design their own day camp experience by choosing one of 11 exciting adventures, creating a storyline for it and selecting projects in video game creation, robotics, digital music composition, animation, graphic design and digital video production. Five sessions of Icamp will be held: June 22-26, June 29-July 1, July 6-10, July 13-17 and August 10-14. The programs meet Mondays through Fridays, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The fee per session is $595. The fee for the week of June 29-July 1 (Monday through Wednesday) is $357.

Make Your First Video Game: Students ages 7-17 create their first video game in this one-of-a-kind class that shows students the crucial keys to designing their first game. Four two-week sessions will be held: June 22-July 1 for ages 10-12, July 6-17 for ages 7-9, July 20-31 for ages 13-17 and August 3-14 for ages 10-12. The programs meet Mondays through Fridays, from 1-4 p.m. The fee for each two-week session is $360. The fee for June 22-July 1 is $288.

Lightz! Camera! Action: Students ages 7-12 learn the dynamics of storytelling, shooting film, editing, graphics, sound and more. The class will be held Monday through Friday, June 22-26, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and again the week of August 10-14 (same times). The fee per week is $420.

Comic Book Heroes: Students ages 7-9 learn to use the latest software to make the characters in their imagination come to life. The class will be held Monday through Wednesday, June 29-July 1, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The fee is $252.

Ultimate Claymation and Stop Action: Students ages 10-12 produce a movie out of nothing but an idea and a piece of clay. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 6-10, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The fee is $420.

Animation Nation: Students ages 10-12 learn the basic concepts of animation used by Hollywood in their favorite movies. The class will be held Monday through Friday, July 13-17, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The fee is $420.
