RVCC THEATRE TO PRESENT MAGICAL EVENING OF PUPPETRY FOR ADULTS, TEENS

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) in North Branch will present Sofie Krog Teater?s production of DIVA , Saturday, February 21, at 7 and 9:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 22, at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

The presentation is part of the Theatre?s Major Artists Series . Tickets cost $20 each.

An almost wordless performance in an intricate, rotating, puppet theatre, DIVA will redefine your definition of theatre. The production is intended for adults and teens over 14. Behind the heavy curtains in an old theatre, the fabulous Diva prepares for the evening?s performance. When the curtain opens each night, the audience is enchanted by her beautiful, wistful song. But on this fatal evening, someone plays a dirty trick that ruins the Diva?s performance.

For the fifth year in a row, Courier News readers voted The Theatre at RVCC as the ?Best of the Best? in 2008 in the ?Playhouse/Theater? category.

This season The Theatre at RVCC is presenting the Major Artists Series ; the 17th annual Merck Series , made possible by a generous grant from The Merck Company Foundation; School-Time Performances , a series for teachers and students grades pre-K to 12; the Family Series , a series of events designed specially for families with older children; and the Sampler Series , a series of transformational events for children and their families. This year also includes a new series, Tuesdays with Stories , which features great American literature performed by solo actors from The American Place Theatre.

A variety of subscribers? packages are available. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at www.rvccArts.org . Senior citizen, student and group discounts are also available for a variety of performances.
