The Allied Health Department of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering courses in Patient Care Technician (PTC) Track I & II. Both programs will be offered Saturdays, February 7-May 16, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., at the College?s North Branch Campus.

The 50-hour program includes the necessary subjects and skills to sit for the Patient Care Technician certification exam offered through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). The cost of the program is $2,062.

The Allied Health Department also will be offering the following courses at the College?s North Branch Campus:

Pharmacy Technician: The 90-hour program is designed to provide hands-on training to individuals interested in a career as a Pharmacy Technician (PT). The course involves 50 hours of classroom instruction, question/answer review and exams, as well as 40 hours of practical experience in a pharmacy. This course is designed to enable students to successfully complete the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. The course is offered Saturdays, March 7-May 16, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and the cost is $1,199.

EKG Technician National Certification: The 40-hour course prepares individuals to work as EKG Technicians in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals, physician?s offices, clinics, sports medicine facilities, nursing homes and insurance companies. Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to sit for the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) National exam. The course is offered Saturdays, March 7-May 9, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and the cost is $775.

Elder Mediation?The Role of the Health Care Professional as a Neutral Third Party Expert: The program provides health care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and appreciate the mediation process. The course is offered on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and the cost is $99.
