RVCC SETS COURSE IN SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE TRAINING
The Allied Health department of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering a course in training for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)/the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) this fall. The course will be offered Thursday, November 8, from 6-10 p.m., at the College?s North Branch Campus.
The course presents an overview of the role of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and the Sexual Assault Response Team. The program includes such topics as the SANE?s role in providing court testimony; challenges for victims of drug-facilitated sexual assault; treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV and Hepatitis; and emergency contraception.
Upon completion of the course, the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA) Certificate with four NJSNA contact hours will be issued.
Corporate and Continuing Education at RVCC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center?s Commission on Accreditation.
