VERNOTICA NAMED TO RVCC BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Dr. Gerald J. Vernotica of Long Valley, the new Hunterdon Executive County Superintendent of Schools, has been named to the Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) Board of Trustees.

Vernotica replaces Frank C. Dragotta, acting Superintendent of Schools for Hunterdon County, as the Board representative from the Hunterdon County schools.

?We welcome Dr. Vernotica to the RVCC Board of Trustees. With his extensive background in education?both as an administrator and inside the classroom?we know he will provide a wealth of knowledge and insights to the Board,? said RVCC President Dr. Casey Crabill.

Dr. Vernotica?s background in education includes serving for the past six years as Superintendent of Schools for Washington Township in Morris County. He also served as Superintendent of Schools in Mendham and in various administrative roles in Roseland, including Chief School Administrator, Principal and Director of Special Services. He began his career in the Newark School System, serving as a teacher and administrator. Dr. Vernotica is also an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University and Montclair State University.

A graduate of Arts High School in Newark, Dr. Vernotica received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Newark State College (now Kean University), a Master of Arts in Administration Supervision from Kean University and an Ed.D. in Administration Supervision Leadership from Seton Hall University.

RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for close to 40 years, offers 90 associate degrees and certificates. In addition, customized training programs and non-credit courses are available for those seeking personal and professional development.
