RVCC STUDENT NAMED NJ STATE PRESIDENT OF INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) student Nicole Singer of Hillsborough has been named New Jersey state president of the Middle States Region of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
The Middle States Region consists of 76 community colleges throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges whose members excel in both academics and community service. Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is the largest honor society in American higher education. The organization has 1,250 chapters in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, the Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab Emirates and U.S. territories.
Singer was elected to the position during the organization?s 90th International Conference, ?Imagine A World,? held April 3-5 in Philadelphia. During the conference she also received the Distinguished Chapter Officer Award on the International level. Singer is vice president of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at RVCC.
RVCC, located on Route 28 and Lamington Road in North Branch, NJ, and serving Somerset and Hunterdon County residents for close to 40 years, offers 90 associate degrees and certificates.
