RVCC TO PRESENT MUSIC FACULTY RECITAL
Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Visual and Performing Arts Department will present a Music Faculty Recital Sunday, February 24, at 3 p.m., in the Welpe Theatre at the College?s North Branch Campus. The event is fee of charge and open to the public.
The concert will include a program of solo, ensemble and original works from the 18th through the 21st Centuries.
The recital will feature performances by the department?s entire music faculty, as well as several guest artists. Faculty members include Larry Barbee, guitarist (Whitehouse Station); Julie Baskinger, pianist (Kendall Park); Roger Briscoe, pianist (Scotch Plains); Michael Eckhart, guitarist (Hillsborough); John Loehrke, bassist (New York City); Margaret Nelson, pianist (Hillsborough); John Sichel, composer (Mountainside); Anthony Strong, pianist (Long Valley); and Robert Thomas, composer (Edison).
Guest artists Ginny Li, pianist (Princeton), a student of Elena Benedict; soprano Heather Keith (Rahway); and alto Jenny Melick (Millburn) will perform works by composer John Sichel. In addition, guest vocalists Christy Colato (Flemington) and Tracy Neal (Somerville) will perform with the jazz musicians.
