RVCC TO OFFER PERSONAL TRAINER NATIONAL CERTIFICATION COURSE
The Allied Health department of Raritan Valley Community College?s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering a Personal Trainer National Certification course this winter. The six-session course will be offered Saturdays, January 26-March 1, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., at the College?s North Branch Campus. The course will include practice training at an off-campus lab site. Information will be given on the first day of the course.
The course offers all the necessary information to become a Certified Personal Trainer?the fourth hottest job in the United States, according to abcnews.com. The intensive program includes 15 hours of lecture, 15 hours of practical training and a 20-hour internship. Topics covered include biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment and health assessment.
The course is being offered in partnership with World Instructor Training Schools (WITS) and is approved by the American Council on Education for three credits.
